Phonics on a film soundtrack

The Australian film maker Quito Washington is currently working on his fourth full length movie called "Swing It!".

"Swing it!" is an homage to the rock and roll era of filmmaking of the late 1940s to early 1950s. This movie is about to be released in August 2009.

Director Quito Washington has used portions of our songs "Steppin' Out", "Miss Babelone", "Dance", "Fill Skill" and "Boogie party" for this film. We are very proud that Quito chose our music for his film, and we can't wait until we can see the final version of his work!

The film was shot completely in Melbourne, Australia in High Definition video. Quito finished the actual filming at the end of july this year. See below for a quick impression of the film shoot.

Phonics horns section completed with two special guests

As you might know, the Phonics play on one of Europe’s largest Rhythm and Blues Festival in Peer Belgium, and the biggest indoor Jazz Festival of the World, North Sea Jazz in Rotterdam Netherlands.

Especially for those two fine gigs, the Phonics Horns are completed with two extra musicians: Jos Gijzen on trumpet, and Tim Paters on sax baritone. Both guys joined us already on stage, and believe us: swing time will be there!
